Theater Creator | Actor | Director | Playwright | Artistic Director | Acting Coach | Alexander Technique Teacher
Moshe Malka is a multifaceted theater artist whose work spans classical repertoire, physical theater, and avant-garde clowning. He began his professional career as an actor in Israel’s leading repertory theaters, including the Khan Theater, the Orna Porat Theater for Children and Youth, and the Itim Ensemble.
The "Zits" Language & Physical Theater In the realm of street theater, Moshe created the modern clown persona 'Mr. Zits'. This character became the cornerstone of a unique theatrical language, blending modern clowning with total physical expression. This methodology, known as 'Zits', led to the founding of the 'Zitsland' company. Under his direction, Zitsland produced experimental street and stage performances that toured internationally, participated in prestigious festivals, and earned numerous awards.
Artistic Leadership Moshe served as the Artistic Director of the Bat Yam International Street Theater Festival. He is also the visionary behind the Hulugab Israeli-Ethiopian Theater at the Confederation House in Jerusalem. For the past 16 years, he has served as its Artistic Director, writing and directing original productions that bridge cultural narratives.
Pedagogy & The Alexander Technique As a certified Alexander Technique teacher, Moshe developed a specialized method that integrates the technique’s principles of poise and movement with professional acting training. He teaches at Israel's premier acting studios and academic institutions, including Haifa University, Kibbutzim College, Yoram Loewenstein Performing Arts Studio, "Haderech" Acting Studio, and the Sandciel Circus School.
His unique curriculum focuses on the dialectic between "Zits" (chaos, foolishness, and total physical expression) and minimalist restraint, granting actors masterful control over their craft. Moshe also leads specialized workshops focused on the "Spirit of Folly"—utilizing laughter and madness as tools for creative liberation.
